Cosmopolitan India Launches #WorkFromHome Issue

A joint project with a strong voice and inspirational stories featuring some of India’s favorite celebrities, influencers, fashion designers, writers, chefs, and more.

Cosmopolitan India Magazine has introduced a one-of-a-kind initiative-the first-ever Home Issue Function. The free-to-use digital topic will be available on the Instagram, Twitter and Facebook accounts of Cosmopolitan India, as well as on the website of the publication.

While we face a turbulent situation, millions of Indian millennials live in isolation — working, communicating, and consuming vast amounts of digital material. Cosmopolitan India, the world’s most widely read magazine for young people, feels that this is a vital time to reach out to its readers and to address issues of interest, including mental wellbeing, positivity, success, and the very significant subject of charity, and to do our utmost to help those most vulnerable.

With this first issue of # WorkFromHome, many celebrities and influencers have come together to create exclusive content-including video content-for Cosmopolitan India from their own homes. Covergirl and ‘Made In Heaven’ actor Sobhita Dhulipala stylized her own makeup, make-up, and clothes, and conceptualized her cover-up for Cosmo India. The effect is a striking picture of the actress sitting on her terrace, a book lying beside her.

When I first heard about the idea of a #WorkfromHome cover, I thought it was so cool,” says Sobhita. “The first time I learned about the idea of the # WorkfromHome cover, I thought it was so sweet,” says Sobhita. “Magazine covers tend to include big teams, and this was entirely different. I used that as an opportunity to build a cover image that is similar to how I would like to show myself to the world. I’ve had so much fun doing this with limited resources. I did my hair and make-up in the way I understand it, ironed my own clothes, and explored new corners in my home to take photographs. The experience was empowering, really!”

The #WorkfromHome Issue also features exclusive videos and content produced by a variety of other celebrities and influencers, including actors Aditi Rao Hydari, Huma Qureshi, Richa Chadda and Sonali Bendre; authors and directors Tahira Kashyap and Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari; fitness experts Yasmin Karachiwala and Mandira Bedi; chefs Pooja Dhingra and Amrita Raichand, among dozens of other content creators.

Speaking about this initiative, Cosmopolitan India Editor Nandini Bhalla says, “We understand that these are complex times that come with a range of feelings and needs. There are issues about anxiety and mental health, important debates about sustainability and consumerism, and worries about what the future could bring. This is a very important topic of welfare, and doing whatever we can to help the most needy, which is what each of us at Cosmo stands for. So then there are ideas on efficiency, self-, at- beauty so exercise habits, and what to do for dinner tonight. Our # WorkfromHome issue aims to echo all thoughts and to cover all topics, with a splash of fashion and beauty content that adds little sparks of joy and hope.”

She also adds,” “This issue embraces the spirit of cooperation and teamwork, and all of our writers have created exclusive content for Cosmopolitan from their own homes, including videos, interviews, short stories, and more. In the end, our message is about hope. We hope for a better future and we hope for peace and prosperity and love and happiness.”
