Innovative Financial Advisors Pvt. Ltd. (Fiinovation) and SMS India Pvt. Ltd., Gurugram (SMS group Germany subsidiary), a leading supplier of metallurgical equipment, has joined hands and developed a community-level CSR project to encourage awareness of COVID-19 and help the neglected parts of the sector in Sakore Nagar and Shivaji Nagar, Pune. The objective of the project is to support the financially weak section of the targeted areas and to spread awareness of basic hygiene and guidance to protect vulnerable communities from the pandemic. The project will facilitate the distribution of food ration and other essential supplies to the marginalized population.
The civil body, the Spherule Foundation, based in Pune, which has worked to bring about a deep-rooted systemic change in people’s lives and to create an equitable, fair society, will manage on-site operations and introduce the project in the targeted area, benefiting 1500 slum households. Various temporary distribution centers will be set up in Sakore Nagar and Shivaji Nagar to distribute pre-packaged ration items. In addition to providing food rations, hygiene kits will also be distributed among recipients in order to encourage them to adopt safe hygiene practices. The intervention also aims to organize various awareness campaigns in line with the information and guidance provided by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW).
