Our Ex President Pranab Mukherjee Dies At 84

He is the only finance minister to possess presented budgets both prior to the 1991 reforms in the license-permit raj regimen as well after the 1991 economic reforms. He took bold decisions following the global financial crisis of 2008 that helped shield the Indian economy. As commerce minister in 1993, Pranabda championed the reason behind trade liberalisation.
He has left an indelible mark on the evolution trajectory of the nation. A scholar par excellence, even a towering statesman, he had been admired across the political range & by all areas of society: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a tweet.

Former president Pranab Mukherjee passed on Monday. The 84-year-old had undergone brain surgery at the Army Research and Referral hospital and has been on ventilator support. He’d contracted Covid-19. His condition dropped farther after he suffered a septic shock as a result of his lung disease, the Hospital explained.
In his long political career, Mukherjee served as a MP seven times. Before becoming the President of India at 2012, he had different points of period been the chief conclusion of the Congress Parliamentary Party, and a major minister in various Cabinets.

Pranab Mukherjee first became the general secretary of the Congress in 1998. He was also a part of this Congress Working Committee for 2-3 years. For a short period he was also given the responsibility to go to the West Bengal unit of this Party.
