Sharda Hospital joins in the battle against COVID-19
In coordination with the State Government and the District Administration, Sharda Hospital is setting up a 200-bed Isolation Ward, which includes 20-bed ICUs with ventilators and Dialysis Aid Full sanitization of the hospital, enforcing SOPs and steps, mock exercises and a dry run for care of COVID patients.
As COVID-19 cases continue to increase in Gautam Budh Nagar and the surrounding areas of Uttar Pradesh and Delhi NCR, Sharda Hospital, a state-of – the-art multi-super-specialty hospital, has prepared 200 beds of Isolation Ward, which includes 20 beds of ICU with ventilators and Dialysis Support to treat COVID (Corona Virus Disease) patients, and has placed in place SOPs and steps to enter the fight against Corona.
A separate unit has been transformed into an insulation unit with the necessary experts, physicians, nurses and qualified support staff. Sharda Hospital has maintained a sufficient supply of personal protective equipment, ventilators, dialysis support, etc. The Hospital purchases N-95 & PPE kits along with other consumables under CSR operation to supply and treat COVID-19 patients free of charge. The UP-State Governments are also funding the provision of PPE kits due to the scarcity of such products. The Government of the UP / CMO Gautam Budh Nagar District will provide the Quarantine Room for Health Care Employees (Doctors / Nurses & Support Team) upon the assurance of Hon’ble Chief Minister of the UP. Sharda Hospital must send all samples obtained to the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida for testing.
“We are committed to tackling COVID-19. Not only have we planned an insulation ward, but we have also performed mock exercises to ensure prompt and appropriate response, timely treatment and improved protection for patients and health care staff during this challenging period. We are also planning to treat a large number of patients if the need arises.” said Dr. Ashutosh Niranjan, Sharda hospital.
In its efforts to plan for a rise in infection numbers, the UP- Government has asked private institutions to set up and operate OPD, insulation beds, ICU beds, and diagnostic facilities. Sharda Hospital has entered the war. The School of Medical Sciences and Research (SU-SMSR) of Sharda University has also offered its research facilities to develop short-and long-term approaches to tackle the Corona Virus pandemic.
