Three soldier from Uttarakhand martyred in two days
After death of two soldiers a day earlier, another Uttarakhand son on Sunday lost his life at Jammu & Kashmir. Dinesh Singh, a native of Mirgaon village Dholadevi block of Almora district, lost his life in an operation against militants in Handwara area of Kupwara district of North Kashmir. Four other security personnel including a Colonel, a Major and Sub Inspector of Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu & Kashmir Police also achieved martyrdom with Dinesh Singh in the operation which is said to have lasted for 18 hours. The brave-hearted news of death brought sorrow to Dinesh Singh’s native village. Incidentally, within two days three Uttarakhand-owned military personnel lost their lives in Jammu and Kashmir. Two army men from the district of Pithoragarh had lost their lives in Jammu and Kashmir sector of Uri on Friday. His father also served in the Indian Army, Godhan Singh Geda.
Governor Baby Rani Maurya expressed sorrow at the martyrdom and wished the family to bear the loss with courage. Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat also expressed deep sorrow over Dinesh Singh’s death. In a message the CM said the supreme sacrifice was rendered by Dinesh Singh and other security personnel.
Speaker Vidhan Sabha Pre Chand Aggarwal, Deputy Speaker Ragunath Singh Chauhan, Deputy Opposition Leader in Karan Mahara State Assembly, former Speaker Govind Singh Kunjwal and many others have expressed their condolences to the grieving family.
